DC should have really made this a cannon part of Aquaman's abilities. It should have been really hard for him to do, but he could on occasion, "push" someone with his telepathy.
Hey Shellhead - Thanks for the 80's info. Perhaps Superman evolved from an ALIEN fish!! lol
And I agree with you, Earth 2 Chris. Even limited (or hard-to-do) telepathy, on beings other than marine, would give Aquaman an extra tool (on land or in space) for fighting non-fishy evil-doers...
The last time I remember it being referenced was during the Justice League Year One series from the 90's. He and Manhunter worked together to accomplish something telepathically. Since then . . . nada.
I always suspected they wanted to go this route with Aquaman, but were unaccountably trepidatious. If Lori Lemaris could connect with human brains so easily, why not Aquaman?
I remember this storyline very fondly! It was, in some ways, rather Gardner Foxy, with the D-Fear concept. It also saw the return of Wonder Woman to the League after a 7 year absence, and had a lot of energy and great set pieces, and even some humor; I seem to remember at one point WW is standing on a wing of her jet using her infinitely extensible lasso to compel the JLAers to fight the menace, and also keep a French national monument in once piece. Told she's needed somewhere else, she responds, "If I leave, who'll hold up the Eiffel Tower?!"
DCCP 48 had Aquaman use his aquatic telepathy (a great band name, IMO) to control an unconscious Superman, saying that Kryptonians must have evolved from marine life as well.

Hmm, I never knew Aquaman's "telepathy" could would on non-fish.
They went through a phase in the 80's where it did, because ultimately we all evolved from marine life. Of course, Superman's an alien so . . . WTF?
